Terms of Use

Last updated: February 2, 2026

1. API Usage

You are permitted to access RateAPI data through our official API endpoints at api.rateapi.dev and through our MCP server at mcp.rateapi.dev. API access is subject to rate limits and requires a valid API key for production use.

By using our API, you agree to:

  • Use the data only for lawful purposes
  • Not exceed your rate limits or quota
  • Not resell or redistribute raw API data to third parties

2. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Web scraping: Automated collection of data from rateapi.dev or any RateAPI web properties through scraping, crawling, or similar automated means
  • Circumventing rate limits: Using multiple accounts, IP addresses, or other techniques to bypass API rate limits
  • Reverse engineering: Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or derive source code from our services
  • Competitive data harvesting: Systematically collecting data to build a competing database or service

3. Data License

Data accessed through the RateAPI API is provided under the following terms:

  • Internal use: You may use the data for internal business purposes, including analysis, decision-making, and building applications for your end users
  • Display rights: You may display rate data to your own users, inside your own product, under your own branding. No attribution to RateAPI is required.
  • No bulk redistribution: You may not redistribute bulk data exports or create derivative datasets for resale

4. Attribution (optional)

Attribution is not a condition of use. You may display rate data inside your own product, under your own branding, without crediting RateAPI. If you would like to credit the source anyway — and we appreciate it — either of these is the form we suggest:

5. Disclaimer

Rate data is collected from publicly available sources and is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. RateAPI does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of rate data. Always verify rates directly with lenders before making financial decisions.

6. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the API after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
