Find Credit Unions Near You

Search by ZIP to see the closest NCUA-reported credit union branches. Then compare current rates, membership requirements, services, and nearby alternatives before you join.

Find a credit union near you

Start with branch locations credit unions report to the NCUA, then compare rates and membership requirements.

Closest is useful—but the relationship matters too

A local branch can make it easier to build a long-term relationship, resolve questions, finance another purchase, or use services that are difficult to compare on rate alone. RateAPI starts with proximity, then links each result to its published loan and deposit rates, reported services, branch information, and membership rules.

Already have a loan quote? Use Rate Check to compare it with product-matched rates from nearby credit unions. You can also browse credit unions by state or read how we verify institution and rate data in the methodology.

How the ZIP search works

Branch addresses come from the latest imported NCUA quarterly report. Because the NCUA file does not include coordinates, the bootstrap search uses official Census ZIP-area reference points and calculates straight-line distance. Results show one closest branch per credit union and never present the estimate as driving distance.

Finding a Local Credit Union

What proximity means and what to compare before joining

How do I find credit unions near me?

Enter a five-digit ZIP code above. RateAPI checks branch locations reported to the National Credit Union Administration and returns the closest reported branch for each credit union, ordered by estimated straight-line miles.

Are the distances driving distances?

No. Distances are straight-line estimates from the center of your ZIP area to a branch coordinate when available, or to the center of the branch ZIP area. Use the branch address to confirm actual travel time and current office availability.

Can I join every nearby credit union?

Not necessarily. Credit unions have membership rules based on location, employer, military affiliation, family, school, association, or another field of membership. Open a credit union profile to review its published Who Can Join information before applying.

Does the closest credit union have the best rate?

Not always. Distance is only one factor. Compare APR, fees, membership requirements, online services, branch access, and the value of an ongoing local relationship. RateAPI shows current published rates alongside institution and membership information.
